PETZL Chicane Auxiliary Brake

The Chicane auxiliary braking device by PETZL allows the ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS Mechanical Prusiks to be used on single ropes by providing continuous additional friction on descents. When using the Chicane Auxiliary Brake, you will be impressed with its excellent compatibility with the mechanical Prusik and just how smoothly the rope glides through the brake during ascents. The ergonomic handle design provides outstanding grip and helps facilitate movement while limb walking and the openable side plate makes installation quick and easy.

ZIGZAG PLUS Mechanical Prusik by PETZL

The updated ZIGZAG Mechanical Prusik, the ZIGZAG PLUS, has been released. The ZIGZAG PLUS allows the user to move around efficiently in a tree using classic Prusik pulley system techniques on either doubled ropes or a single rope. The friction chain provides precision and fluidity when moving around and the pulley is mounted on sealed ball bearings to allow the slack to be taken up easily. The lower attachment hole with high efficiency swivel ensures stable and correct positioning of the mechanical Prusik as well as optimal rope glide through the device. PETZL has also released a new ZIGZAG 2019 edition which does not feature the swivel attachment, meaning arborists now have even more choice.

The Akimbo SRS Mechanical Device by Rock Exotica

The Akimbo SRS Mechanical Device is a unique arborist climbing tool that enables the climber to ascend, descend and position on both stationary and moving rope systems. The Akimbo features rope contact surfaces (Upper and Lower Bollards) that adjust to accommodate a wide range of rope sizes to suit the climber’s needs or preferences – all without having to use tools or disassembling components. The Bollards can also be adjusted to increase or decrease friction to accommodate changes in climber weight, changes in environment, or adjust for natural wear of the Akimbo’s contact surfaces. The Akimbo opens easily to remove or install a rope midline in seconds, and compresses back down into a compact form, both on and off the rope. The Rope Cannon

We understand that no one enjoys having to collect and fill your rope bag continuously, but the new Rope Cannon allows you to relocate long lines in just seconds. This time-saving device, also known as The Rope Shooting Wheel, handles everything from throwlines to 20mm diameter ropes in either wet, dry or dirty conditions. You can load up the Rope Cannon midline or from either end for easy rope collection. Another added benefit, which is great for measuring, is that one crank of the wheel equals three feet of rope.
