Vermeer Australia will launch its new BC700XL brush chipper at the 2014 Hire & Rental Show before rolling it out to hire and rental businesses.
Vermeer’s National Marketing Manager, Steve Reeves, says the BC700XL brush chipper is the smallest machine in the company’s wood chipper line and focuses on productivity benefits and ease-of-use.
“This compact machine features a centrifugal clutch system, 25 horsepower (18.6kW) Kohler EFI engine, bottom feed stop bar, and Vermeer’s exclusive SmartFeed feed-sensing control system,” he said.
“The centrifugal clutch engagement prevents belt slip when engaging the clutch which means fewer maintenance costs, while the Kohler engine provides improved fuel economy over comparable carburetted gas engines.
“In addition, the large infeed opening makes feeding irregular material easier and decreases the amount of saw cuts needed prior to feeding the chipper.
“The SmartFeed patented feed-sensing control system helps increase operator productivity and reduces strain on vital engine parts, as engine rpm is monitored and feed rollers are controlled.
Other products being displayed and demonstrated by Vermeer at the show include the full Mini Skid Steer Loader range, V100 and V250 Vacuum Excavators, and Pedestrian Trenchers.
Reeves says that in the Australian hire and rental market the company’s Vacuum Excavators and Mini Skid Steer Loaders are proving extremely popular, with additional production capabilities being introduced to meet demand. “Vermeer’s presence in the Australian market is unmatched in terms of the number of dealerships, inventory of parts, time in the Australian market, and the support of a global business of over 6,000 people in 60 countries,” he said.
“We deliver real impact on our hire and rental fleet operators’ productivity and profit through the provision of high quality compact construction and environmental equipment and the support of a nationwide network of factory trained and certified dealerships.
“Our nationwide fleet operator customers include Kennards Hire and Coates Hire, as well as state-based businesses, and smaller independent businesses. We are able to meet the unique needs of fleet operators of all sizes.”
Mr. Reeves believes that key factors for success in the industry include being able to support customers needs in terms of responding to demand for certain products, such as introducing additional product lines.
“Other important factors include the provision of tailored after sales support to meet the unique needs of hire and rental businesses, and providing high quality equipment with industry-leading performance that offers great return on investment and lower cost of ownership over the life of the machine
“We are proud to be Silver Sponsors of the Hire and Rental Industry Association Convention from 29 April – 2 May 2014 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. Located at sites 49-52 inside, and site E16 outside adjacent to the Dig Pit, we will be demonstrating our equipment throughout the event.”
With a manufacturing facility based in Iowa, Vermeer is a leading supplier of a range of compact equipment designed for the rental market, including Pedestrian Trenchers, Vacuum Excavators, Brush Chippers, Stump Cutters, and a family of versatile Mini Skid Steer Loaders.
