Ring A Dingo & Tipper Hire might be a small business, but they have a big customer following, which owner Lloyd Stewart says has been mainly built from word of mouth and quality service, which has led him to purchase a new Vermeer Mini Skid Steer Loader.

The business is a contract wet hire operation based in Bundaberg and has been running for nearly 15 years.

“I’ve always been in the hire business. Before I went out on my own, I actually worked in party hire, but we hired out a few earthmoving pieces of equipment there so I grew familiar with the work they could do and what was needed to hire them out,” Lloyd says.

“I started this business on my own 14 years ago, and I’m still going strong just by myself, thanks to the well-known name I’ve built for the business in the region. It’s been all about who you know and the work we do, and I’ve done pretty well.”

Lloyd has had a few trusty machines in his fleet over the years, starting with a mini excavator, then moving onto a skid steer loader. Recently, he’s upgraded to a Vermeer S925TX Mini Skid Steer Loader.

“I worked with a Vermeer loader in the early days, then tried some competitor machines, but I’ve now made my way back to a Vermeer. The machine is gutsy, ballsy and capable. It has me impressed.

“I’ll be putting it to work on most of my wet hire jobs, from prepping turf to plumbing and clearing for stormwater drains and backfilling. We also use it for cleaning up builders’ worksites and supporting concrete jobs. It can get through all that type of work.”

The Vermeer S925TX comes standard with a dual hydraulic auxiliary system with high flow, which helps power a range of attachments, and a low flow to give the operator maximum control, making it a perfect machine for working on a diverse range of jobs. The dedicated spring-cushioned operator platform also keeps the operator out of the mud and debris if working on rough terrain.

Lloyd also says it was the support and advice from his Vermeer Australia salesperson that convinced him to go back to working with Vermeer Australia.

“Originally, I was looking at an excavator, but Jack from Vermeer Australia talked to me about their skid steer loaders, and I agreed that was the way to go. He had such a positive attitude and really impressed me with his quick response times, and he took the time to understand me and my business needs, plus they had a machine ready to deliver to me straight away.”
